So, just signed a new contract as senior manager at a top 10 consulting firm. To say the truth, I have no what senior managers do😅 what's the difference between a senior manager and a senior cons?

Is it a bad idea to leave public after 2 years + senior title?

Tax Senior here. I’m well liked around the office, I put in the hours and work hard, I haven’t had any dumpster fire projects, but I am a mediocre performer compared to my peers (not as strong project management, communication, not as confident). I just got told they’re firing me. Should I expect severance? Have other people been fired for similar? What did you do with your career?

Any other shorties on here? I find that being short has made it really difficult for me to get ahead in this industry. I have to work that much harder for people to take me seriously.

What would you do in this situation?
I have my last day at employer A right before thanksgiving and will be covered on their health insurance through 11/30. I am taking some time off before starting a new position with employer B in mid January but their insurance wouldn’t be effective until 2/1. Is there any advice for networking into projects when you don’t know many people at the firm yet? I always to help on BD work when I’m on the bench, but it never turns into any billable work.
