My brother has 8 YOE post his Masters with a US bank in their rates trading division as a software developer- managing, supporting and developing software for pricing trade executions, risk management and reporting requirements for the trading desk. He wants to pivot out of banking and maybe look for an opportunity with FAANG or with MBB/Tier2 consulting. Any inputs on how to go about this transition, what hiring managers look for and if consulting is an option? TIA

For a MCOL city and a household of 4, would $2M at 45years age of the two parents be enough to start thinking FIRE? Also consider a $1M house paid for, but not counting that in the $2M since its a primary residence and will be for many years. If i apply a 3% safe withdrawal rate and 25% taxes its just under $4k a month income, which seems pretty low. Thoughts?

I was wondering if someone can help me clarify the PA requirements for taking the CPA Test. I have a Bachelors degree in Economics, but no Accounting credits. I was wondering if my 36 credits in ECON, Finance, Business Law classes will qualify me to sit for the test? I fully understand I need 150 for the license, plus 12 accounting credits which I plan on pursuing after passing the tests. The NASBA site says you need 24 credits in the above but it’s not specific.

Hello everyone, I have completed my hr round with HCL on 21- Jan and Hr told that I would be receiving an email regarding bgv but didn't receive any email related to bgv or offer letter. Any idea on how many days will it take to recieve the bgv email.

Our system is really lacking and we do a lot of work outside of it to track data. Currently I’m using Excel to track data from multiple resources, however, it’s so manual and prone to error. Any suggestions to keep the data clean when I have to pull info from multiple places? I’m constantly auditing and we won’t even look at getting a new system until next year :(
