I have to connect to fly delta but I continue to do so anyway.
I do the same
I’m not a Delta loyalist and am less familiar with their network and flight maps. SF is a United hub and for my top domestic and international destinations, they have the most direct and frequent flights. So I am now United Gold, have their credit card, and don’t anticipate switching as long as I’m in the Bay Area. I would say it definitely depends on your top destinations- do some research on flight options and then make a decision.
To add, as you may already know Newark is also a United hub. And if you are paying for any trips with your personal CC, I’d consider getting the United basic CC. It gives you benefits similar to those of status on lower levels.
If you fly to East coast a lot would recommend keeping Delta status especially they now have extended status through 2022
It depends on the city in east coast. NYC, ATL, stick w/delta. Charlotte, MIA, stick w/AA. Boston surrounding, UA
