I’ve seen that kind of logic too, and it honestly doesn’t add up. It’s frustrating when companies claim to base pay on cost of living, but the numbers feel off. Florida isn’t exactly cheap these days. I’d love to know how they’re actually calculating these adjustments.
I have no clue.. when I asked they said it’s in the database I’m like well yall might want to update that database.. because the math isn’t mathing.. of course I didn’t say it like that lol but it’s just not gonna help decreasing pay like that when ur moving somewhere with a much higher cost of living
Florida is absolutely super expensive! I could also argue some places in Texas are also costly. I wonder where they are getting the numbers from. If hybrid also are they going off of where the company is located or some kind of state average? Has to be some method to the madness.. maybe.
I have no idea because most headquarters for finance are on Plano which is a ritzy area but FL is still more expensive.. it boggles my mind because I can’t afford an 11% pay cut just because I’m moving to somewhere that’s way more expensive than where I live now.. FL is def not cheaper than TX no matter which part of Texas ur in..
Very strange. Unless they are moving you to Midland, Tx it’s cheaper in Texas than Florida.
Right! I mean even midland tx is way cheaper than Fl lol
I just want a job that I can pay my mortgage
I am writing to express my interest in exploring new career opportunities. After a rewarding 24-year career in government service, I have recently retired. Holding both a Master of Public Administration (MPA) and a Bachelor of Science (BS), I am eager to transition into a new role that leverages my skills and experience while providing a competitive salary commensurate with my qualifications. My desired salary range is $70,000 or more. While my background is in finance, I am open to considering positions outside of this field that offer a fulfilling and challenging work environment. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
