AWS cloud application architect. Had an on-site interview with AWS a few days ago and just got an email saying they want to talk to me about next steps. The role is cloud application architect but I want to ask them about the senior cloud application architect role. I have all the relevant experience for that role and feel like I’d be a better fit for that senior role. How should I approach this conversation? Is this even possible? Amazon

Unless you’re actively highlighting the issues, they will get raises and y’all could get let go… modern management
It does seem likely. :)

Ok, did you highlight these shortcomings to management ?
@Developer just highlight every PR that introduces a showstopper bug that the vibecoders blindly submitted. Explain how much money would be lost to have to fix if even one of these actually didn't get caught.
At some point in this ecosystem, production will get trainwrecked by slopcode. That is 100% guaranteed. You want the documentation of months worth of "I told you so's" way in advance.
You guys should use Claude Code. Sonnet usually gets the job done.
Sure, if you guys get good ROI with it.
Is there a way you can just let the mess be and see what happens when nobody cleans up after them?
It’s hard to say. We work with Agile so we take the blame as a team and do retrospection to figure out the solutions.
Yes, it takes a toll, it's annoying, it's frustrating to have coworkers who don't automatically know what to do in all situations. The issue here is your attitude. These are people on your team who you will spend more time with than your family. This is an opportunity to train, help, and mentor others, not to be frustrated that everyone isn't as experienced as you.
How do you train someone who doesn’t want to learn. And I know because there are other people in my team that do - the difference is obvious.
No
Do you have code reviews, test harnesses , unit tests, end to end tests that would bring this out? I use Claude code to develop then I review the code , plus in GitHub I get GitHub copilot to review the PRs. Copilot often finds mistakes Claude made. And of course there are human reviewers. You could show them the error of their ways in a nice way.
I'm practically the Architect/QA Engineer guiding Claude. It can make mistakes if you're not careful.
