My department is sales adjacent, but a few people are licensed (we are a health insurance company) including my immediate director and the director of the department. Several new hires are also licensed, and the team culture rewards those who have "carried a bag." From what I've seen getting licensed is pretty easy. Should I do it?

I went for 3 interviews with a company met with vp and was given package thinking I aced interview there was another candidate 😞 the other person for the job. The VP calls me to tell me I didn’t get position however he wants me to re apply in new year that something else will be open, and that he wanted to keep a copy of my resume what does this mean ? Should I apply again in new year or don’t bother ?
