Oh that is dirty. I have heard of that happening before, but not in awhile. With a job market as bad as this one, people are willing to take what they are offered. They would have had no problem filling a 1 month temp role. Why lie? So sorry you are dealing with that.
I am SO sorry to hear that. Honestly, that is such a crappy thing for them to do to you. I know it doesn't feel this way now but you might have dodged a bullet.
I know how you feel. I was hired as a front desk person and during my first five days of work, they let me go people just don’t give people a chance to train properly. So I feel your pain have a merry Christmas and a happy new year in spite of it.

Oh no did you not get a contract that stated the position was permanent? I swear they always get dodgy as it comes to the holiday season...
As a stocker at Walmart, companies don’t give no shxt about us hard working people. They rather fire us for no reason and never explain the reasoning just your fired or we have to let you go. I hate that they lied to you about job and just let you go. It’s bs. I pray you find much better job for yourself, it will come. Happy New Year too you!
I moved states for a job that was a step forward in my career. I was promised a specific, titled role. On my first day I discovered that it was all a lie. There was an 80-something year-old employee in the role that I was promised. They had worked up to that role, then held it for over 15 years... The general manager hoped that by bringing me on and bragging about my related degree that they could somehow push them into retirement. I tried for 6 months to find another job while being miserable there in a position I did NOT sign up for, but ended up having to move back in with family in my home state because the pay was also not as promised. Felt evil, honestly.
I know how you feel. I worked for a Sister company of GM and absolutely loved the job even though it was warehouse work. It was overnight. It was with great people, but they didn’t even bother to tell us that it was shutting down until I actually told one of the CEOs that came through the company that we had heard about it and wondering when we were gonna be told anything until they started trying to cover their tails by announcing it in meetings and making it sound less than it was, but in reality they shut down from November until May and only those with a lot of seniority we’re going to be asked back and also there was not gonna be any more second or third shift. It was just going to be daytime shift when they came back now they’ve changed it to come back for a couple of weeks here and there, but again only for seniority and it started out as the end of November became November 21 but on the 18th in the morning everybody received a text that the job was over work was canceled for the rest of the week, in actuality that was it. it’s been a nightmare trying to find another job. I’m still looking and as of now I don’t have a car anymore, so it’s even harder. I live in the rural area and I can’t get anywhere so desperately looking for something I could do for home, however, that seems to not be available either. I don’t know what I’m gonna do, completely alone and scared.
