Don’t want to live in Indian tech community because it is typically full of IT services related people and their world views and problems don’t necessarily align with me.
I prefer to live more in the city with more diverse set of population.
anything different such as ?
Lol, what's wrong with techies. Most of us have embraced American way of life same to management consultant. Also not all of us are cricket fans. Well I play basketball most of Saturdays and some tennis. And I prefer potluck over eating overprocessed highly bad American junk food. And potluck just doesn't mean women cooking. I prepare my chicken and shrimp for grill.
I agree, nothing wrong - good actually, its a high growth area. I think they were referring to IT services, like BPO, rather than tech.
Regaardless, everyone should be treated equally here. Whether you live in an Indian area is immaterial. Your kids won’t benefit or lose either way, at least not because of the demographics of your local school (the ranking is a separate matter).
Life outcomes vary significantly and are based on a multitude of factors. You can’t paint your kid’s face white or black by putting them in a certain area. They’ll very likely be perceived the same way, based on the social agenda, at any point in time.

Went to a reasonably priced Desi tech community to a more expensive tech community that is more diverse.
Could you elaborate. I have done a lot of pot lucks and would like to try something different. Football? Barbecue? Not sure what desis frown upon. Just curious.
BCG1, do you reckon we are underrepresented in non-tech and non-services professions?
I see a typical mentality here- people wanting to move to more diverse communities- what they mean is actually more gentrified communities, often associated with the white population. Will you escape the stereotypes by playing ball - inside your head, you probably will! Others will see you as someone trying to paint their face white!
Have you instead considered changing yourselves, and making the community more appealing, by helping each other? Eating healthy, alpha personalities, having a good taste for clothing, exercising and maintaining your physical appearance. Help each other in business instead of comparing who owns what car or phone. I’d love to be stereotyped with such a community, rather than move to so-called “diverse places”.
Have you seen Jewish communities and how they operate and build wealth and prosperity all-round.
This comes from someone with dual heritage, a European partner and as a result, multi-heritage kids. I’ve been through the identity crisis stuff all my life, and trust me, I have little skin in the game, I’m only trying to point the obvious and HELP!
