My mother's B1 visa is expiring in June, but due to coronavirus there is no flight for her to go back to home country. Does anyone know what we should do? Can EY Law help in this situation?

USCIS opened up visitor visa extension due to COVID that you can file. Having proof that your mom has a flight that got canceled due to COVD and/or waiting list for future flights help with the application.

I filed extension for my parents. It costed ~500$ per person. Haven’t heard any decision on the application. But at least we are covered. It is what it is beyond that.

OP - sorry just saw this. Feel free to DM me for any questions.

Where are you located?

We are in Chicago

There are flights leaving the country. Contact the embassy if you must.

Thanks. We did contact embassy. There is a long waitlist to get on a flight to go back. Her visa will expire before she is able to board.

Try changing her to B status (different from visa), you should contact an immigration lawyer

Which country? There are flights from Chicago to almaot everywhere, can she connect in another country?

Can you drive to a different international airport?

You could file for an extension as well. I think it’s called form I-539

I think you can get an extension... there is an online form and you need to pay some fees... go through the USCIS website for exact details

Call Murthy law firm. They can provide best guidance in anything immigration related.

529 Plan VERSUS Prepaid

We live in Florida and currently have a Freshman in High School and a 16 month old. We hear from our friends and family with college bound children "I wish we would have done Florida PrePaid." After obviously ignoring this for years, we are finally trying to do it before "it's too late" for both children.

Does anyone have recommendations on which plan to go with for each child? I once did the pros and cons on a whiteboard and it seemed like 529 was better.

Been working at my company as a new grad for almost a year, but don’t see myself in the team that I am in (working with Salesforce) for long term. Are there companies that will hire by seeing that I am willing to learn and am interested in frontend even tho I don’t have much experience with it yet?

I flunked out of school and had no options when I joined the army. I hated every second of my time in, and spent all my weekends getting as drunk as possible.

Now that I’m out, I graduated with my BA in Econ, got a job I love, and somehow got into an M7 Bschool with a 670 GMAT. I look back on my time in and laugh, and still talk with some of my old army buddies (though not as often anymore)

Amazing how time can change your perspective, because 10 years ago I never thought I’d be here.
