My parents live in a different state from their former primary residence. They are now trying to sell it. Do they just have to appoint someone as a POA to execute documents? I’m in the state where the house is located.

They can probably arrange to sign the documents remotely with a mobile notary.

I don’t find that there’s a ton of “day to say communication” when selling a property. But if that’s too much for them to deal with for a few weeks, I dunno what to tell them.

They can have a local full-service Realtor handle this for them & just outline their wishes for the sale in the listing agreement - if they’ve hired the right listing agent - this should be very straightforward. I am happy to help make a referral for them.

Just bought a new primary residence that needs work. Current home has ~$100k equity after buying in 2019 with <$20k down (appreciated around 20% in the last 3 years, in a major metro area). Would you:

1) Lock in the appreciation & sell now. Use some for renovations/other investments.

2) Keep for another 2-3 years & rent out for a small cash flow (<100/month if self-managing), get a HELOC if needed. Note it would not pass my investment criteria if buying today.

I am selling house and remodeling both master bath and kids bath. Got quote for 29k for both and I buy floors and cabinets.question is I have a very big whirlpool tub and tiles around it discolored. It’s a hassle to lift it up change the tiles and fixtures and put it back. It’s old but works great. Remodeling ppl recommend get rid of it, give space to buyers if they want to buy standalone tub. I thought it adds value to have whirlpool tub. But can’t even change fixture. Should I get rid of it?
