So you are planning to use a non-union crew on your shoot, is what you are saying to us, and how do you deal with them wanting to flip it so they can be paid a decent wage and earn union hours so they can keep their health insurance?

L.A. and CA in general have shot themselves in the foot, insisting on acting like it's 1995 and they're the only game in town.
Vancouver, Toronto, Mexico City, Louisiana, and Georgia are all enjoying the upshot of that arrogance.

Of course there are. But other places have caught up, and clients increasingly flinch at the unjustified costs. Not saying anything everyone doesn't already know.
Shooting non sag is one thing. But shooting non union crew in LA is asking for a picket
No news. Production as usual. Don’t know what your post is about. It affects no one. Union crews are not affected. They are the standard on all shoots.
I appears the person posting the original comment has concerns as to whether their shoot, if using non-union crew, may be subject to the possibility (or even the likelihood) of a work stoppage caused by an attempt by crew to flip the show to union. The person posting the original comment may be looking for input and advice from others who may have had this same concern recently or in the past.
Eli5 pls
It can be done. I’ve done it once with a tiny crew in LA and a sh*t budget. Prod Co was out of NYC. Just can’t shoot SAG actors.
Everyone I know hates shooting in LA, union or not.
Not really relevant, but that’s a creepy looking dude in that post
