If I were you, I d work to pick up a higher paying job for the weekdays. Save your weekends, live a little. Don’t make life about work

I’m 25, pretty busy in the weekdays and weekends with a consulting job and online masters from tech. But would also like to start on a healthcare startup soon (lots of family high up in healthcare). In general would like to make some more connections in Atlanta, any advice?? What activities?
I’m good at any and all racquet sports including ping pong pickleball tennis etc, soccer player since childhood. Golf I can hit but 9 holes could be embarrassing and maybe not worth the $. I just go to Marietta, Bobby jones, and Northcrest driving ranges with friends once every 2-3 weeks. I’ll be in ATL for 1-2 more years and want to make the most of it, people can be kind of boring, low energy here. I have great friends that I love but even these friends are all northern homebodies, some live in the city but still have that sit at home in suburban Suwanee mentality

Message me, im 25 and looking to use my time on the weekends better as well. Weekdays I found my groove already. Check out my above comment as well about starting a healthcare startup or med devices distributor business also, deeply interests me.
I’ve thought about fitness coaching or tutoring but being from CA where I made $40-50 hourly in 2018-2020 tutoring here and there, it’s less appealing in GA where in 2024 even prob pays $5-10 less than that.
Bartender you could do at an upscale bar or a club (I live near TnG. But I’m a little hesitant if my practice finds out it could affect reputation and promotions)

Have you tried doing uber or Lyft or something like that? I have several friends who do uber eats and instacart on the weekends and they seem to make a pretty decent hourly rate. Might be worth it if you are needing some extra money fast.

Question for folks with second homes: Considering buying a vacation home but would be primarily for family use. We currently have a primary residence with a mortgage balance of ~640K, so my understanding is I could only deduct the mortgage interest on 110K of the second mortgage to stay under the 750K cap. If I were to buy the second home through an LLC, would that allow me to exceed that 750K since the expenses of the second home would be pass through expenses/income?

I’ve got a partnership w/ two of my uncles. We have two houses on rent. we use the profit from the homes as a single pot where we pay for the maintenance expenses (different cash flow from each). We are close family and they trust my judgement. Another of my uncles wants to join for the next home we buy. How do we split/ allow their buy in to our partnership for the next home? I don’t wanna add extra accounting of maintaining expense/cash flow from the next one we buy as a larger group Thoughts?

Not sure if this is the right bowl but hoping to get some insight. I have a lot of student debt, and am considering refinancing with First Republic bank to get a (marginally) lower interest rate. However, their version of refinancing student loans has changed in the last couple years so now they offer you a personal line of credit. Is it a bad idea to refinance with a line of credit vs a regular student loan refinancing?

Any points to note or any other gotcha to keep in mind ? Please suggest.

Toronto banks: remote or not? They sometimes post jobs where it doesn’t say it’s remote, but no branch/ location/address either. Then you get an interview and they tell you it’s remote/hybrid(1-2-3days, take your pick)/on-site. So, if you work at TD, Scotia, RBC, could you let everybody know in the comments what’s the deal for each? Are you remote, on-site, hybrid of some sort?

My fiancé and I (ages 30 and 31) are about to buy a house. We would put down 10% for a 835k purchase price. Our combined income is $265k. We both have around 7-10k left in emergency funds (each) and combined about 200k for retirement. Our mortgage is $4,500 a month and we split a car payment for $800. Is this an okay financial decision or should we have bought a cheaper house/saved more?
