Need advice...
Have a former colleague who reached out for a referral. I worked indirectly with them, but referred because they seemed like a good fit......

"I'm sorry, I won't be able to refer you again. Wishing you the best of luck with your search!" No need to justify anything

like

Thanks. I think it’s more that now, this person is hitting up everyone!

like

Do a “sorry it didn’t work out, but best of luck in your search”.

like

No one will fault you for being nice to him, so don't worry about having referred him. He is just embarrassing himself at this point, and will hear a round of "no"s soon. I'd just wash your hands of further involvement and let the situation play its course.

Because they’re emailing everyone. At least 5 of us have gotten the same email about roles and we all work together. It’s just too much

...That same person then reached out to another colleague of mine that they know, who also referred them to a role.

The person gets an interview for both roles. Both roles choose another candidate.

Person we both referred is now reaching out to both of us, plus everyone they interviewed with about other roles they see on the careers page. I’m all for networking, but all the people getting reach outs know each other and it’s getting a bit out of hand. Additionally, I have since come to find out that they’re actually having performance issues at their current company which makes me wish I could remove myself as an original referrer.

Any thoughts on what I could do/say?

How do you know they have performance issues at their current company?

They told me

Monthly Savings = 71,500

City= bangalore

I invest money in stock market when i have a bit of savings. And planning to buy car. So spending will increase soon.

Discussion post: I feel almost all consulting firms are the same. Mbb, big 4 etc. if you are paid enough there is probably less wlb. If there is good wlb there is not much money. Can you single out a company that you can confidently say pays very well and also has good wlb and also has good opportunities etc.?

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
