Need an opinion. A lot of people are leaving my job, and I’m wondering if I should consider moving up into a role with more responsibilities within my department. My department was not profitable last year, so I’m also wondering if it would make more sense to make a lateral move within the company into a more profitable department. What do you think?

If you're in a department that's having problems it's good to try to move somewhere else. You don't want to get pigeonholed unfairly and be known as someone from a struggling department. Sometimes that can stick to you and it's best to just avoid it.

Lateral move makes sense. If you think the department may become profitable then if you stay and move up it could look really good you were in the turn around.

Sounds like a prudent decision to me. I would not want to stick around anywhere that wasn't turning a profit. You'll almost assuredly be on the chopping block if the company decides to go the layoff route.

What’s the symbol that you can type in a cell so you can input a text, but that text would not appear in the spreadsheet? I want to describe the formula without using a text box, which uses more space.

The equivalent of this is in SQL, you can use the apostrophe in the beginning of and end of a text. That text will not affect the function of the query, but that text can be seen if you proofread the query.

Hey y’all. I went through an exceptionally traumatizing experience a few years ago that has totally & utterly shattered my confidence, self worth, self esteem etc. I have a hard time portraying my work experience + deserving of a new role.

For context, I did well in uni, got into law school but due to finances + the experience in question I didn’t end up going. Kept working in the public sector as a coordinator & now got my scrum master certificate to transfer to SM role in finance/ tech. Help
