Does anyone have any insights on what a typical Sr. Associate Director makes at Boehringer Ingelheim? I have a range of 170-180k which I think is fair but don’t want to be underpaid. Also, any information regarding retirement planning or medical/dental benefits would be helpful. Haven’t gotten much out of HR. Thanks in advance!

Hi all! I’m looking to connect with folks who either work at Coinbase or have interviewed recently for the Business Operations and Strategy Manager or similar role. I am looking to schedule my first interview which I believe is a consulting style case. So any details you can provide, I am all ears. The next interview will be a presentation. Again if you have any experience/advice on this, I’m ready to listen.

$20k retention bonus doesn’t increase your base. Bonuses aren’t guaranteed. D needs to up its offer.
Mentor
Agreed. 20k one time is basically 14k lump sum and there’s probably a clawback on it too.
Higher base means a lot more when it comes time to looking for your next role
I was at D as a C making 76k. One jump and I am making $150.5k as SC in EY. I promise you, you won’t get paid if you don’t leave. You can always boomerang. But this retention bonus is crap to begin with, and the double digit bonus is also BS. BS as in it’s a) not guaranteed despite what you’re being told and b) doesn’t do anything to help your base salary, which is what your bonuses are based of. I got a 5% raise at EY this year, you think igaf that it was only 5%? Not at all when it’s 5% of a big number
Thanks for the feedback man! Definitely going to make the jump. EY actually offered me 125k + 5k, but might turn them down given the role at McAfee is 100% remote sitting at 120k. Don’t think it’s worth the 5k move

If you otherwise like it there, I would stay. Jumping to industry may hurt promotion timeline down the road but do your research.

Base increases are harder to get, retention bonuses are one off. They’ll lock you lower for another year at a lower base.
2.5 YOE jumping to another firm for 120
+ 5, get a higher base.
Go to industry and boomerang back. Get your money.
I would try at another B4. You might get even more money than the industry offer.
I have an outstanding offer at EY for 125k + 5k.
Coach
Go back to your PMD and Market Offering Talent Group leader, thank them for the retention offer and and ask for a higher base that is in line with what you received from EY.
As far as industry, consider What are your growth opp at your new company? Do they have an established career path? How often do they promote? Can they promote multiple people at once or does someone have to leave and spot be vacant for you to get promoted? These things matter. The reason I left industry is because there weren’t timelines with promotions and they were highly dependent on vacancy, and many people were competing for the same spot. What I like about our firm is that we have a set # of years for each level and we can promote an entire ‘class’ at once. Also growing your career in Consulting often gives you more exposure and better experience than Industry. You can always exit to industry
So new company is going to be McAfee Enterpise. I’d be joining them as an Info Sec Engineer.
How do you feel about the offer aside from compensation? Seems like the money will be pretty similar either way, so I’d go with whichever job you think more strongly aligns with your long term career goals.
Echoing what others are saying.. seems like you have the leverage here. Might be worth asking for adjustment to base pay.
Lol don’t fall for this trap! They never let the peanut become a peanut butter my man! They like to keep their jars closed. We ain’t getting anything
