I look at that and think oooh nice, updated bath!
Haha I guess it’s all relative.
What’s your budget?
Also the bathmat is oversized for that space
Also black fixtures will compensate/distract the eye from the tile. And looks like may match with your door handle too.
Yup. Ordered a new vanity and also black fixtures. Will keep that consistent throughout.
I don’t mean any disrespect but everything there has to go… including those 2 soap dishes. But if I have to pick one thing, the toilet feels like the first thing that should go.
Sorry if that is harsh. Here are a few things you could do to update it. Take the sink and mirror and storage rack over the toilet and replace with something like this.
Replace sink and mirror with something like this

Replace the storage unit above the toilet with:

I don’t know what kind of tub is behind the curtain but the curved shower curtain rod doesn’t look good.
I also noticed the lighting is poor. Maybe not LED?
Try lighting like this?

Not harsh. I know. The toilet is definitely coming out. I appreciate your suggestions. Due to the plumbing lines, we are going with a standard white cabinet/vanity as opposed to the floating one you sent because it won’t work well with our piping lines.
I actually like the character of the sink if it had a modern black faucet situation that matched the door handle (would get a black curtain rod as well), but you might be better off replacing the sink entirely with something that has cabinets, and use that for storage instead of having a shelf above the toilet.
It’s hella beige so I’d try to get some color in there with wallpaper or paint, and a plant. Smaller bath mat for sure, maybe a wood slat one for texture/break the monotony up. Hard to see what the light fixture is but that can be an easy upgrade too.
Short term you could look into painting the wall tile or getting tile stickers until you can get rid of it/replace it. Would replace the toilet one day.
Ordered a vanity with storage so we can remove the ugly shelving unit above the toilet.
Theme will be white vanity and toilet with black fixtures and then the color will be through the shower curtain and a plant.
The pedestal sink isn’t bad but it’s not functional in a full bathroom. I would replace the shower rod/curtain, take down the shelving and replace with artwork or floating shelves, take down the vanity and replace with a vanity/cabinet combo for storage, take down the mirror and soap holders and replace with a large framed mirror, replace the mat with a larger mat, like a rectangle that is proportionate for the full bathroom floor/adds to whatever color theme you’re going for. You can also update the light fixture but I think at least the shower curtain, vanity, and rug will make a big impact without a lot of expense.
Thank you. Ordered a black shower rod and a new curtain with some color. Ordered a new vanity / cabinet combo. Looking into removing the soap holders today. Let’s see how it goes.
What do you mean a larger rug? Some people here said the rug is too big and you’re saying it’s too small. Slightly confused.
One other thing you could look into is putting luxury vinyl floor on top of the tile… so you don’t have to worry about having to rip the tile off. Definitely doable and have seen some people do this very successfully on top of a tile. But I wish you could remove the uneven backsplash tile too.
Yes exactly. It’s uneven. I hate it. But the place has appreciated since we bought it 2 years ago and we don’t want to dump money into a place that we won’t be in too long. Just want to dress it up as best as we can ourselves.
Never heard of luxury vinyl floor on top of tile but i would still have the tile on the walls.
