So glad my wife sternly told me not to waste money on a "push present". As a woman, she thinks it's completely ridiculous and as a man, I agree 100%. Consumerism and the social pressure to buy gifts for every single "event" is out of control
2 season tickets to your local NFL team. She'll love it
Probably should be separate gifts.
wtf is a push present lol
For the push present get your wife a nice piece of jewelry that she can pass down to daughter/daughter in law one day? Can never go wrong with pearl and diamond earrings. Anniversary - flowers, massage, and pedicure. Birthday - purse, nice diaper bag, something more practical that she will use often.
Make a video with her friends sending sweet messages
Same boat as you before young man. Get her pregnant again, and then tell her she'll get the gifts on time. My wife loved that.
I never told my husband about push presents but he heard about them and has given me great ones. All beautiful pieces of jewelry that will be great to pass down one day. First two involved their birth stones and for the third child a three diamond necklace. It was a Mother's Day/push present. For anniversary gift - what year anniversary is it? We like to do traditional presents based on the year.
You got to be fucking kidding me, push present, ha
D3, d1, ey1 - relax! We live well within our means and often don't even get each other presents. While early in our 10+ year relationship we would create meaningful, sentimental gifts, we lack the time for that now. It's been quite some time since I've gotten her a tangible and meaningful gift and that's what I'd like to do. D2 - great idea. Sm1 - I like birth stone idea, but the kid is a boy so may not be as easy to pass down?
How much do you want to spend on each?
How far along is she? Or what's the normal timeframe for a push present?
Pwc1 - Behind on push present - kid is half a year. Bday present was an experience thing that fell thru due to family emergency so we had to cancel.
Acc1 - in the hundreds but potentially not thousands. Leaving it open to see suggestions. But I do need to do something fairly significant.
D1 - grow a human being and bring it into the world gets you a present these days. "Push" refers to delivery.
D2 yup
well said D3. Don't like this idea of a push present. isn't the joy of rearing (thank you Knocked Up) a child a gift in itself?
OP all our kids are boys but still nice to have family heirlooms.
The baby is her present.
