In order for you to get into PE IR role eventually, I think you need to experience client service role in AM or HF(HF IR is more preferable as they sell private funds like PE)
But anyway, all you need is the good timing even to have the opportunity to have the interview with PE IR honestly considering their pretty small market size.
F as I also want to get into IR eventually
Congrats! Not sure re: pay, so hopefully someone else can help. I've seen levels.xyz dropped around here pretty often.
Re: your other question, definitely think you can get into something more lucrative afterwards as this sounds like great experience, but not sure how likely it is that you'll get into a PE IR role. Honestly, IR at PE is an extremely client facing role with a very small job market. There's a very specific type of person that is hired into IR, and if you're not it, then this is going to be extremely difficult. The typical PE firm also doesn't start with an IR department, and these departments are generally not larger than 1-5 people even at the more established PE firms.
Lev Fin? You have a lot of exit opps with that, I wouldn’t even take the ratings analyst role... just network you are in a much better spot than most right now, just do a LinkedIn search and message away. Someone on my team made it from mbs pricing to investor relations at a credit fund
