Hi Fishes, I have been offered by Cognizant Consulting to move to UK for a short term. However I have my permanent braces treatment going on in India. Can anyone guide if Cognizant Consulting (UK) covers dental treatment in insurance. Can anyone also let me know how much does braces treatment cost in London? Cognizant

I have a hundred items on my plate. Remind me what you need me to do (reviews, send emails, schedule meetings) and by when - so I don’t forget.
Do it to every boss - but ask them for their preferred method to be reminded
This is it. And if I’m suggesting something that is a terrible idea (goes against client’s direct request for example, but I forgot that...), tell me! It’s a team sport.
Managing up is a skill consisting of communicating and building trust with your 1 up or higher in order to get what you want out of them
Manage up all the time. Think about what needs to happen next and either just do it, prepare something so your lead can do it easily. Or ask your lead if you can help do it. Example: we need to have a meeting with the client. A) schedule the meeting B) check calendars and send your lead a draft agenda C) ask your lead who should be in the meeting and what we want to discuss so you can do a and b.

Overcommunicate to your boss and make it clear what you’re contributing to the team. Instead of waiting for questions, do things like emailing about what you’ve done over the past few days and asking for perspective and guidance on something ongoing or upcoming.
I’m not awesome at it, but it does seem effective.
Managing up = being proactive with who you report to. Proactively mitigate risks, solve issues, expedite decisions and identify opportunities for value add.
Everyone should it early and often. If I know my manager (the person who influences my career growth) prefers to be informed I schedule a recurring bi-weekly touch base to provide an update to give the vocabulary I prefer to be used when discussing my performance and the project. I also make the manager feel informed.
These are all really helpful responses and I’m going to try to implement them more than I have been. Sounds like I basically should be generally proactive, remind my lead of certain action items, and provide regular status updates.
If others have suggestions, please keep them coming.
Trying to find that line between being proactive and being annoying/overeager haha
Your manager and leadership have significantly different responsibilities, considerations to give, risks to mitigate, etc. The better you can begin understanding their role and the variables which may go into their day-to-day or (more importantly) their decision-making process, the more valuable you can be with your input and support.
I’m an overly experienced manager and these all resonate and what I ask of my team is the help me with the details and keep it straight. I have a horrific amount of complexity running through my head, where someone can help me keep the deep details in check and I also know I can trust you to share details and run things, it’s a huge win
