Unexpected but welcomed
Best website to browse good bourbons?
Check out Monkey Shoulder. It’s also a pure/blended malt like Green Label but a bit cheaper. Both are good in my mind.
What do you like about JW you’d like to see in another bottle, other than a responsible price?

Johnnie Walker Double Black is a solid immediate upgrade, can easily sip it neat.
Glenlivet 12 and Glenfiddich 12 are excellent choices for budget friendly single malts. My personal preference between the two is Glenlivet

My vote goes to Naked Grouse for blended whiskies, to me it’s the best cheap blend. There are plenty of cheap single malts that are great sippers but the cheap-ish part is very hard to standardize across the country. For example I regularly buy the Benriach Original 10 for about 25 bucks a pop at my nearby Costco, but I’ve seen prices as high as 80 bucks for that bottle.
Johnny Green is the best bang for your buck in the Johnny walker lineup. But you’re not wrong that it is close to the perfect quality-cost trade off
If you like Johnnie black, check out John Barr. Similar style of scotch but I prefer it over Johnnie Walker personally

The Aberfeldy 12 is really good value and a very nice pour.
It’s obviously an ok whisky, but do be aware that Scotch can be broadly classified into blended and single malt, and Johnnie Walker is the former rather than the latter. There is a place for both for sure, but when most people talk about Whisky they’re typically referring to the single malt variety
