Yes, but i take precautions. 1. Put paper towel on my countertop and plates right next to the countertop. 2. Put on disposable gloves. 3. When the delivery person arrives, i take the items and place on countertop. 4. Open delivery containers but do not touch the food. 5. Take off gloves and trash them. 6. Wash my hands. 7. Transfer the food to my plates without touching the containers. 8. Once finished, put on another pair of gloves 9. trash the delivery containers and paper towels 10. Trash the second pair of gloves. 11. Wash hands. 12. Eat
Some might say this is overkill but #%!* this virus
I order delivery frequently
If you haven’t then microwaved your food you are just assuming the chef and food packer didn’t add some viral material to the food you then ingest.
I order delivery and eat it without worry. But, that doesn’t mean it’s a great idea.
“Currently, there is no evidence of food or food packaging being associated with transmission of COVID-19” - CDC. How did the fear of carry out food and the mail and groceries get started? Just because there are so many unknowns? Or did it come from the same lot that started the run on TP?
CDC also now recommends wearing face masks but a month ago they said it’s totally not needed so yeah I wouldn’t exactly put too much weight on what they say

Yes. No.
Agree with M1. Yes. No.
Not ok because I am not sure who is cooking , who is handling and packing and who is delivering it - especially paranoid because I am in tri state area
But I sanitize the stuff once I get it home. I know it’s not fool proof but trying to reduce outside food as much as possible
I'm ok with it but my husband isn't

spray the bag (and delivery person’s hands) down before accepting it, as well as the container before opening, and transfer to your own dish/bowl and zap the food in the microwave before eating

I had hoped the sarcasm was a bit more obvious in the first part, but I’m for real about transferring to your own dinnerware and microwaving

Haven’t eaten any food prepared outside the house for a month.

Slightly. But I was having a panic attack earlier over this whole situation and crab rangoons were the only thing that could fix it. Gotta ration that Xanax.
Yes but I'm hungry.
Yep ordered lunch yesterday, dinner today, and planning to get brunch delivered tomorrow morning
The food itself is absolutely safe. You just need to follow basic food safety principles like, you know, heating food up. Internal temp > 140 (might be even lower for coronavirus) wipes out everything bad. Containers are a bit trickier since many are hard plastic, which can have a significant viral load sit around for a while. If you’re worried about that, which is fair, the easy solution is to just transfer the food to your own plate and pop it in the microwave and then wash your hands before you touch anything else or eat. Problem solved :)

So glad i know and enjoy cooking.
Even if an infected cook sneezed directly into your food, the probability you get infected is basically 0, especially if the food is hot. Great article below from a widely respected food writer and chef:

Who is splendid table.org? Nah don’t trust it.
I’m not ok with it, but I’m tired of cooking and hungry...so I’m ordering
Yes and no. Also probably have the virus so at this point it probably doesn't matter anyway. Did contactless delivery today (for the benefit of others)-I really didn't want to cook for myself.
I’m definitely cooking more but we do pickup once or twice a week. My husband insists on picking up the food instead of doing delivery orders so there’s less hands on it
I’ve gotten takeout probably 7 times in the past 3 weeks. Outside of washing hands and trying not to touch doors or surfaces, I’m fine....
I'm still doing it. Just putting it in one spot on the counter, taking everything out of the containers and putting those out in trash or recycling right away and heating the food in the microwave. Then disinfect the counter. Should be good then and also helps keep the restaurants you like in business so they can keep people employed and can open again when this is over.
There are fomites everywhere. It's the same as getting groceries.
