Not to be a buzzkill but eveytime I see a HOP pass away at a young age (under 60 RIP) I wonder about the stress of this job… This coupled with the insistence on the devaluation of the role with new roles offering insultingly low comp - I’m having serious second thoughts about this career path.

People who usually die under 60 had cancer. I don’t think stress is the real cause. It’s more about the lack of ignoring the symptoms and not getting them checked out. For some, the symptoms only become apparent when the illness is too far gone. It’s sad.
