Hi Fishes,
I resigned from TCS in August and in another 18 days it's my LWD with TCS, now i got call from my lead saying they will provide canada onsite opportunity and he said he has multiple projects at onsite which he can give me, some are saying it's just a gimmick to retain you nothing else, my DM asked me to say yes or no by tomorrow so that he can start the process he said once i get approval mail then only i can take back my resignation. Do you think i can believe my DM? Tata Consultancy Infosys

One of the most important things is to make sure you’re not creating a rift with your team as you discuss why you think decision X ‘might not be the best way to go’ in your opinion. Hopefully you can point to the specifics of why and have an honest and collaborative discussion. If not, and you feel strongly that these decisions aren’t the best for the production you can reach out to the ECD with any concerns or suggestions you might have. You’re there to help make the best possible piece of content you can, which includes helping to craft it creatively. But it sounds like this might be a new position for you so that might not be possible without having a strong relationship with the ECD or without causing some tension with your team if they know you’re going over their heads. If that’s the case, talk to your HoP about your concerns and maybe they can speak to the ECD as if the concerns are coming from him/her in order to not get you started off on the wrong foot with the team. It might be a little convoluted but in the end you’re just as responsible for the final output as everyone so you have to figure out the best way to have your concerns heard.
Empathize with them. Maybe they’re open to learning through vendors who can help them grow. Maybe the client feedback pushed them to make choices they did. Meet them where they are and be a leader. If none of this seems like it’ll work at your shop, cut bait, because you’ll get bitter and they’ll end up thinking you’re trying to drive creative
I'm in the exact same position right now. Feels good to know I'm not the only one worried about this. I've been sharing my creative opinion more than usual, mentoring my very green creatives as much as I can to give them better tools to succeed. It's going ok so far but feels a little like a ticking bomb. The GCDs want nothing to do with this job and that doesn't help either. Good luck, hope your job is a success!
Thank you, you too!
And they probably make twice your salary.
Single bid the job to a director you like and trust that they can clean it up. Green creatives seem to be receptive to directors
