Not to demotivate anyone but joined Nielsen last week.
As a data engineer, they told initially work on java and spark and aws which indeed is there. I thought it will adventurous.

But seems like it's overwhelming as I come from service based company along with azure experience.

I have 5 yoe. Finding it tough to cope up with java.

Also the codebase seems to be big.

My prev exp mostly on azure and databricks limited one on databricks.

I left many higher offer please guide

If anyone can please share their insights

I also got selected for nielsen waiting for offer, can they give 30lpa to 3.5 exp candidate?

Also, seeing your condition, are there any positives you see that is worthing staying there or you want to leave asap? What about company culture, manager and everything, because from the outside i can see many positives : good reputed company, product based, lot of learning, highly intellogent folks, i know folks from visa, microsoft have also joined recently.

But i also know many of them are already complaining a lot regarding it not being mainstream data engineering tech stack wise and intense.

What is the CTC did Nielsen offered you now

Don't be disheartened. Indeed the code base is quite large. Keep seeking help whenever required, do lots of chatgpt. Create a list of functions and variables in your free time in google sheet coz they expecting deliverables after 8 weeks.

So the project involves a lot of legacy support & maintanence rather than developments?

They give you data scientist role and make you work as a Data Engineer.

Vice versa

Hi I got an offer from Nielsen media as a data scientist, can you please share your experience?

I have an offer with Citi, initially it was hybrid model and looks like they are moving back to wfo.. they told only now and I dont have any other offer in hand. due to personal constraints I need wfh or some flexibility types, but they seem a bit rigid as its not in their policy..
Is it good to join and then try pushing them for wfh.. or search for another offer..? 16 yoe, PM...

Literally nothing to do with the law, but I want to hear some theories. We live in a super normal, suburban neighborhood. Across the street is a family— husband, wife, 2 teenage daughters. Every couple nights, before COVID and during, I hear the husband either coming home late or sometimes even leaving in his car. I don’t think he’s sneaking around on his wife because if I’m noticing this, she definitely is. WHAT IS HE DOING?!

Xoxo, a nosy neighbor with nothing better to do.

I understand life isn’t fair but is there an ethical problem with this?
