As an ADC applying this summer for 2022 start, I haven’t gotten a chance to connect with any L.E.K. Consulting members and I really want to get to know the company better before moving on with my application. Any L.E.K. Consulting fish out there willing to spare a few minutes to chat about their work, the company, the culture etc? Thanks!
I've had a hybrid role for the past 4 years where I get unlimited sick days (well 14 really until fmla kicked in), 3 weeks of vacation, 3 personal days. I am also given the week after Xmas off. if my toddlers are sick I can work at home with them. Interviewing w fortune 500 that offers 15 pto days that have to use for sick days too.Strictly in office job 9-5 and dress bus.prof. These bad benefits? Outdated culture?I am a seasoned professional. Seems tough.

If “employer” = company, then no, very few of us will say we are cared about as people. But if “employer” means the actual people we work for, then yes - my leadership shows on a regular basis that they care about me as a human.

I just left A&M because of their toxic culture. I do believe that my new firm puts culture as a priority. The leaders I work with do care about me as a person. Feels like a large global family.

What is the new company?
Why is your employer supposed to care about you as a person?
I used to think so. But ACN took an extremely heavy handed approach to both its own vaxx mandate AND the communications to support the rollout, which has led me to completely shift my viewpoint about my employer, its motives, and how it truly regards its “greatest asset.”
Case in point:
✔️No testing option. None.
✔️I work fully remote—and have since 2019. I will never have need to visit an office. I am still required to vaxx—“for the safety of my coworkers and clients.” Well…I’m not client facing—and all of my coworkers are scattered in cities across the US. (Side point: I had C19 9 months ago, have active t-cell immunity confirmed by bloodwork, and I haven’t been reinfected. For a variant that’s so pernicious, it somehow hasn’t caught up to me.)
✔️My nearest office is 270 miles away, and I don’t know a single person there. Why would I ever need to go there?
✔️A “mandatory” vaccination survey was distributed in July accompanied by a threat that if we didn’t respond, any raise or bonus for 2021 would be reduced by 10%.
Slalom comes closest on this, would recommend.
