Either that, or NK caused a pending massive ecological disaster with their testing, and finally realized they came close to triggering a volcanic eruption, on top of the leaking nuclear waste from the test that collapsed a cavern and caused a 6.3 earthquake. Probably want things resolved so they can ask for international help before radioactivity flows into China.
NK lost their Nuke testing site..so they can’t do much for some time anyway. So they might be playing coffee and cigarettes for now. Having said that, it should be considered an achievement for Trump admin. Simply because Obama would have sold it the same way.
Well that’s in no part due to Barry’s effort
He should definitely get it...if he can get the issue resolved with 130k or less
Ow1 - hot off the press, 3 prisoners in GOOD health are being release from NK and traveling back with SoS Pompeo
I think it’s great that Trump got 3 prisoners released. He can get credit for that. I think his overall P&L as President is negative, but not entirely so. I was just responding to all this talk about “Barry” having failed at getting prisoners out
Still too early to call the end of a US-NK summit meet. Clearly EY , you have limited experience in high stakes, big $$, deal negotiations.
#Nobel-Trump . #Prez4PeacePrize 😂
He beat Kim to it...that is a victory
The Trumpets’ pivot in this thread is amazing! Lmao
“Trump is a negotiation genius for agreeing to this historic meeting, something that Obama never had the balls to do!
*one week later*
“Kim was never going to agree to US’s terms and was only going to use the meeting to embarrass the US on the world stage, Trump is a negotiation to pulling out of this doomed summit!”
🙄clearly VP1s go to response is “you don’t know dealmaking” versus any substantive policy commentary
^ that sir, is the art of the deal
It’s really interesting how North Korea has turned out so far. From my perspective it looks like Trump escalated the likelihood of a war to the point that China/SK/NK all realized this problem needed to be handled. Could be intentional on Trumps part but who really knows
For sure, Trump drove the issue resulting in the U turn by NK. He deserves a a lot of credit, but as he even admitted today he didn’t act alone and got help from Xi.
Will be interesting to see how it gets spun
Looked to me like Trump just stopped pandering to a bully, called him on it, refused to be intimidated, and the bully backed the heck down. Everyone has been pandering to NK’s threats and tantrums for decades, and it just encouraged them to keep making threats to get their way.
The current deal on the table — about which we have few details — appears similar to the one on the table at the end of the Clinton administration that Bush (with a push from John Bolton) killed off over concerns NK would cheat / was buying time. If this works, the question should be what was wrong with the same deal in 2001 back before NK had even achieved a nuclear weapon
It was not a concern North Korea cheating . North cheated. The Clinton deal (brokered by peace loving jimmy Carter) prevented NK from developing uranium based bombs in exchange of US aid. When bush inherited the deal they discovered NK has developed plutonium based bomb. That precipitated a crisis for Bush.
What exactly are you giving trump credit for? The loss of the test site? Lull in rocket or nuke testing? Having KJU come to negotiations?
This will go down as a Trump victory . Wait and see y’all 😂
Will it be a nobel peace prize though?
It would be cool if Trump gets and rejects the Nobel. The foundation has discredited themselves too many times.
I don’t think the Nobel committee is vouching for everything the person ever did or ever will do, just the acts in the award citation
