Office protocol for "stinky" foods? I've been spoiled the last few years with few officemates, but we've moved a ton of people into our building and now am a bit more conscious.

I have never really had any problems in that regard, people seem to exercise common sense well.

I will say, one of the break rooms in my office area has this Dilbert comic pinned to the area where the microwaves sit: https://www.tumblr.com/welcometoyouredoom/132880517719?source=share.

funny

Lol in general I'd say don't bring them, but I guess that kind of depends on how stinky they are. What specifically are you thinking of here?

Usually seafood. I LOVE seafood and my family doesn't eat it, so it ends up being leftovers. I haven't brought any in for a while since I have so many officemates now, but there was one day where two of us had salmon, two had asparagus, and one had Brussel sprouts. The three of us didn't even notice until one person from another building strolled in. 😂

I purposely bring in left over Salmon and heat it up in the only microwave. Good times!

I guess if it's something truly horrendous there's nothing wrong with telling the offender that his lunch is lethal. But in reality that's hard for most people to do. I guess you just have to put up with it. Or drop whatever hints you can.

I normally cook fish when people have potty mouths

I’m so tired of US companies hiring remote Canadian employees offering to pay a fraction of the price for the same role.

This is consistent across the majority of the tech companies. While I am looking to exit consulting, don’t want to be paid 50% of what my colleagues would be making across the border.

I've been thinking about my career a lot lately. I feel like I've hit a wall, and I don't know how to get past it.

I've been at this job for almost 5 years now, and ever since the day I started, there have been problems with my coworkers. It's not just one person—it's everyone in my department, and they all seem to be working against each other instead of together. Should I leave?
