They have cherry picked their data for years. Absolute scumbag company. Anyone who has worked with them for more than a year or two can tell you that
Lol those numbers include laughs.
-Mason Frank is a recruiting firm. They get more customers when more people think they can make more money if they get a new job. While I don't believe they're putting out false information from what they received, it's certainly in their best interests that the published numbers be as high as possible. That probably impacts things like who/when they target for the survey(perhaps late spring when consultants move to a new role and are told their target bonus and haven't found out yet they're likely only going to get 50% of it), as well as not discarding outliers/mistakes ("mistakes/misclick" are only at worst going to say a salary of zero, but at best include "accidental" extra zeros - similar reason household income is commonly referenced by median, not mean)
- folks who do report their salary are generally ones that are engaged in salary conversation at large, which likely skews toward folks at the higher end of the salary spectrum as well
It's still worth referencing as a starting point, but I've had much closer estimates provided by Glassdoor (and have heard good things about levels.fyi but haven't used it myself)

Probably TC. Appears too high for a junior consultant. I’d also need to know what they frame as “junior”. I.e less than 2 YOE or something?
This is incorrect. In the US I would say an average is between 60 and 90k depending on cost of living. NYC is a lot more expensive than Dallas.
