Does employee level of internal referral matter at B4?

E.g. if I see a job requirement I fit, then does having a senior associate refer me carry more weight than a staff? How about manager versus Sr?

So I’m engaged in an interview process for a top FinTech company. It started the 1st week of August and just now I’ve gotten word from my recruiter that they didn’t update on any decisions made. I am from L3 support background good at troubleshooting Env issues & managing things assigned to me. Hv been working as Devops for sometime now but majority of IaC (chef, shell scripting) task is done by a colleague and I take care of calls & Env issues

Is our industry as competitive as some say? I see a lot of people saying this and I work with a bunch of hacks (myself included). It felt like a little while ago agencies were begging to hire new talent, and most couldn’t find new people. Is it really that hard to get a job at an agency? Maybe I’m just out of touch being in this career for so long.

Is there a way of bypassing the H1B lottery? I was told by an external recruiter that if I joined their London team, after a year I could go through H1B process without the lottery. My preference is to remain with Deloitte and transfer - can Deloitte put me through without the lottery? Are there stipulations such as minimum tenure or degree types etc?

Everyone complains about high healthcare costs in the US. I understand that it’s a complex problem including drug prices, insurances etc. But no one talks about the high physician salaries. Why do surgeons make near a million in the US while they make $250K in Canada?
