That’s a fantastic line—both kind and memorable. One of my favorites I’ve seen was, “We’re not moving forward, but I hope our paths cross again. You’re someone I’d genuinely want to work with someday.” It made it feel like the door wasn’t completely closed. Rejection is never easy, but warmth and specificity can go a long way. Curious to see what others have heard or said too!
Honestly, to me it comes across as a little forced. The most useful rejections I got are the one where they motivated it, they made me rethink my preparation and alignment with the role they were looking to fill.
