Any work or use to work at Chartwells K12
Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

That should just be the base salary not including sign on bonus or RSUs.
Generally no because if you end up not being a high performer they can’t/don’t reduce your base but they can also reduce the amount of shares they grant you. I’ve seen it for the perfect candidate but pretty rare in my org. Signing bonus and RSUs are somewhat negotiable but we have pay bands that they are unlikely to go above

There are no rules that say an employer cannot exceed their published range. In fact, it happens quite often for the “right” candidate.
Thanks
They always have some room, so technically it’s not “final,” but Amazon’s usually pretty locked into those ranges for base pay. Where they flex is total comp: bonuses, equity, etc. I had a friend aim higher than the range, and while they didn’t bump base, they padded the RSUs and gave a generous sign-on.
Thanks
The range here is ridiculous. 100k range? Not sure how that helps anyone know where to start in their negotiations. I say it's definitely worth trying to negotiate above their high end because, well, it's Amazon.
You should’ve seen Netflix’s range. It’s like $500k
I think it’s base. So extras can be negotiated
