One thing the tech hiring process rarely reveals is what the actual day to day work feels like. I have accepted roles that looked perfect on paper, only to discover later that the pace, management style, or environment slowly drained my motivation. Sometimes the issue is not the role title but the way the work is experienced daily. Why do interviews focus so much on skills but so little on whether the environment is sustainable for the candidate?

That’s most roles. Easiest thing to write is an HR job description.

I am in a tech IC position. One of friends switched to FAANG by converting the profile to consultant profile. The friend who might have less tech knowledge than me is now in FAANG and earning more. If the end goal would be that the friend might one day be a product manager and me an engineering manager taking instructions from the same friend, isn't consultant profile an easier path to growth. I had been practising DSA for years and the competition is only ever growing.

Looking for a fully remote PM role with US based teams. Any leads? Currently juggling 2 teams and one off shore. None of which was disclosed in the interview process.

Quick question.
I was a contractor for a big company and they just let me know that my last day is December 30th. I got this position thanks to a recruiting company that has been great and gives me benefits.
Should I:
- Continue working with the recruiting company, hoping that they will find another position for me? (as they told me they will, and when they applied me I started working with my current company within 2 weeks)
- Work with the recruiter + apply for jobs on my own?
