I had to leave that bowl for awhile. It’s a whole lot of people who aren’t management but they think like they’re management. I wonder what would happen if they tried to unionize. Consultants seem like they’d be totally against it.

I hated the coronavirus bowl for a long time, but I’ve learned to live the chaos and friction of it.

It’s been a fascinating peek behind the curtain for other industries, from my perspective. And it’s very revealing of how the pandemic has effected us.

I am 7 years out in a transactional practice (real estate) and have an opportunity to move in house at a regionally respected company from a midsize firm. I have WFH flexibility at my current firm but bill about 1850-1900 per year. It would be about a 25% paycut. I have also been offered partnership starting in 2022 if I stay - not entirely clear what that long term structure looks like (would have to develop a partially independent book in next 3-5 years). Am I crazy if I leave?

Anyone here have experience negotiating steps with the DOD? I’m coming from the private sector and interested in learning what I need to do to start at a step 5, rather than a step1. Step 1 would be about 13k below my current base/bonus comp package and I don’t want to take such a large hit.

I have a Patrimony that I want to buy circa 2000 but I want to understand what are the costs of owning one that is approximately 20years old.
