How bad would a move from consulting —> industry (such as FANNG) —> back to consulting be for my career? 2 1/2 YOE in tech consulting out of undergrad right now.
We now have a bowl dedicated to discuss Indian politics like the Politics Bowl on FB:
Please feel free to spread the word.
I am 7 years out in a transactional practice (real estate) and have an opportunity to move in house at a regionally respected company from a midsize firm. I have WFH flexibility at my current firm but bill about 1850-1900 per year. It would be about a 25% paycut. I have also been offered partnership starting in 2022 if I stay - not entirely clear what that long term structure looks like (would have to develop a partially independent book in next 3-5 years). Am I crazy if I leave?
The service line in my teams profile and EY email signature has changed from "Assurance" to "Audit". Is the name change permanent?
Apologies if I missed it but...

Trying to transition into agency and I feel like I’m missing something/not understanding. For AE, what do bring managers mean when they ask your proficiency in PowerPoint/Excel/Word (the whole office suite tbh)? I feel like everyone uses them for the same things... what should I be focusing/highlighting?
I am looking to relocate to Bangalore with my spouse and kid. Any suggestions on what places to look for around Whitefield. My office is in Whitefield. Have no idea on where to start with. Any suggestions would help. Less travel and reasonable rent are preferred.
So this is the key
Anyone here have experience negotiating steps with the DOD? I’m coming from the private sector and interested in learning what I need to do to start at a step 5, rather than a step1. Step 1 would be about 13k below my current base/bonus comp package and I don’t want to take such a large hit.
Does anyone own a Vacheron Constantin timepiece.
I have a Patrimony that I want to buy circa 2000 but I want to understand what are the costs of owning one that is approximately 20years old.
I only owned Rolex and Omega so far that I bought new so I never had to incur any expenses in maintenance as they did not hit the dates yet.

Hi. I’m going to this training and if anyone else in advertising or design industry wants to attend we could have our own break out group there and meet.

I’m reaching out because we’re running (our second) hackathon against the infodemic- this time centered around finding creative ways to keep Georgians informed about COVID amidst misinformation and mistrust and an early relaxation of social distancing.

You may have noticed the new Networking feature that has been added to our and other bowls. It concerned me with regard to privacy, so I reached out to Fishbowl for answers.

Not meant to replace unionizing but I think this could be very helpful and might inspire some of us to unionize. Please drop your salary info for your current or past job. Info is anonymous!
Would people here be interested in having a little reading group? Might be a nice thing to put everyone on a similar playing field as we start to work together.

Happy last Friday of summer! Does your agency do Summer Fridays? Did you have time to take all of them? Why not All-Year-Round Fridays? Why not a floating weekday each week? What would you argue for?
Ok so I know this isn’t the same as openly talking about salaries BUT what do y’all think about a google doc where people self report their salaries. It would definitely be a beast to create and...
Has anyone seen that Patriot Act episode (the Netflix show with Hassan Minaj) where they talk about the video game industry? It sounds very much like advertising and they’re finally unionizing.
Soooo we just got bought by Accenture. Anyone want to get this project off the ground?? Like, soon???

I don’t know you but you’re speakin my language, EY.
I had to leave that bowl for awhile. It’s a whole lot of people who aren’t management but they think like they’re management. I wonder what would happen if they tried to unionize. Consultants seem like they’d be totally against it.
I hated the coronavirus bowl for a long time, but I’ve learned to live the chaos and friction of it.
It’s been a fascinating peek behind the curtain for other industries, from my perspective. And it’s very revealing of how the pandemic has effected us.
