I paid $140/mo and it was a ten minute walk. It was awesome when I was nine months pregnant.
But it was the cheapest
It doesn't make a difference in exit ops, but the scale is good to learn from I suppose. I do HR audits at the huge companies B4 people are always trying to get into. It holds no weight, and it hurts you depending on the level, because they assume you have less exposure to more topics. Which is supported by what big4 vs non big4 can detail on their resumes. It's honestly a super interesting phenomenon, and of course counter intuitive.
Dude that is an expendable charge.
2nd year at 56k?!?!?! In DC?!?!?!?!??! I started at 56k...youre getting unbelievably screwed
I'm sure there are cheaper places to park but you just choose to park there
$20 is cheap....
Parking at a client site is chargeable but we are not reimbursed for parking at our home office unfortunately. So I feel you on that one, why should we PAY to come to work? They're supposed to pay us.. the firms are too cheap
$12 a day. $240 a month. Idk about you but I would want it reimbursed fully when I'm parking at the CLIENT SITE. @EY1
It does make a difference, especially since most job postings I see say "big 4 experience a plus"
And i totally agree on that. I don't care much for mileage but I do about parking every day.
So if you reimbursed if it's over $12 what's the complaint? I'm clearly missing something. So either you should get that all back or you're only paying $12 a month....
It would be farther if its cheaper and I'd rather not walk all way with support, a laptop, its accessories and a second screen. Cheaper still means $16 though. That adds up if you have to pay every day.
SD office with the free parking. Fortunately they figured out the proper office location was no longer downtown.
The name matters, buddy.
Ask client to give you parking?
Its company policy to only get reimbursed for anything over $12 (in parking).
Yeah why not, don't they have employee parking, temp parking pass, or some kind of parking validation stamp ?
Yeah that should definitely be chargeable
For us it is at least ^
I'm in significantly lower COL than the OP...you guys accept too much garbage to get the name on a resume
CH1 I interned with a smaller firm in the DC area and was offered 62k, another company offered 70k (due to my CPA credentials) net but I wanted to be with the Big 4. It does make a difference at the end of the day (not saying that smaller firms dont offer value and experience). Its just the way of the world. And no I did not get put on one area. I have audited sig risk engagements without a second year or any other staff in its entirety (or almost). This is my first large accelerated filer who just went public and has a spinoff plus merger going on. I'm happy where I am. I just dont like paying for parking now that I will be on this site everyday of the year.
