More time in Hawaii is always a good thing.
Nahh, it’s a small island. 5 days are more than enough. Unless you want to just chill
We typically go for 2 weeks, and never have a shortage of things we want to do/see. We typically rent a condo in Kihei so we are only eating out once a day. Don’t forget your reef safe sunscreen… aloha!

I think ZS1 is right 5 days is enough if you are looking to do activities (volcano, road to Hana, etc.) and very little beach/pool chillin. If you want to chill a bit I would add an extra day. If flying from the east coast I would add an extra day just for jet lag.
IMO you need 6 days minimum, but really depends on what type of trip you want to have - this doesn’t even include hikes other than Waimoku. Feel free to DM if you want other recs!
1. Arrival day
2. Road to Hana (first part, sleep in Hana)
3. Road to Hana (waianapanapa, kipahulu district/waimoku falls, and back side of Haleakala)
4. Chill beach day or snorkel & Haleakala sunset
5. Snorkel day & luau
6. Chill beach day & red eye home
