Rising Star
It means dont quit till you find another job. Many phantom postings. Many hiring managers implementing requirements above what they say in the posting (e.g posting says 5 yrs required, but they only interview people with 10 yrs exp). Its also basically mandatory to network to get interviews now.

You find a job then you leave. Or if you have short term leave options that will pay you some portion of your pay plus benefits, you could do that while you find your next gig.
I would start looking before you officially start the leave process, as it could take longer than the time you're given by your firm.
The market is definitely a bit soft. Unless you're comfortable that it could take awhile to find another job or want to do some travelling, etc. suggest having a rough idea of what you're looking for, brushing up the resume and possibly starting to apply before resigning.
Why are you quitting
Been doing it for 7 years, tired, don’t want to grind anymore, no longer interested in the work I do etc
