Friend’s goal is to keep the income for a little longer, but to minimize conflict / headaches. What’s the best move here? Wait until EOY and take the severance? Give 6 / 9 / 12 months’ notice now? Is there such a thing as too much notice? Could too much notice backfire?

Was just told to "grow our ESG/CSR" practice at a regional consulting firm, due to my recent grad certification in sustainable biz strategy. Wondering where I should focus us as a services industry for big impact: we have a large product innovation, digital engineering area, and know in the past we've had a lot of lip service to clients and only recorded ESG for their compliance.
