POLL: After a long summer of unemployment & rejection letters, you finally get 2 offers. Both have appeal for different reasons. Which would you pick, assuming money wasn’t a factor? Thanks for choosing by liking A or B below. A= a Creative Lead job on an a beautiful tropical island (English speaking, but cultural adventure) where the work/industry was much less developed, or B= a Creative lead job in a new-to-you US city you also liked where the work and teams were much more advanced/skilled?

If you don’t take the one on the island, can you please put in a good word for me? Thanks!

The best part of A is that you will have the opportunity to make a dent in the world. Doing something in Industries that don’t know what they’re doing is how you make a name for yourself. In B it’s going to be comfortable, the process is already going to be outlined, and you’re going to be a cog in the machine.
If you don’t know how the other cogs work or how to build the machine from scratch yet, you might need more experience in B

On the plus side. This won’t be your first time being exposed to both A and B. So whatever you pick will be a learning experience for you.

Another great consideration, AS1. I think I’d learn more overall on the island- that learning would be more life/cultural learning.

I love traveling by living in different countries. You should do option A. You’ll be an even better CD if you opened up more to different cultures and broadened your horizon.

Also, if you know your time of birth, you should do astro cartography — it’s astrology of the countries and will tell you in which countries you will find love, in which success, or ones where everything will be very hard, in some you will feel more alive and wanted than ever, others will make you dig deep within yourself and change emotionally, etc. There are free ones online, scary how accurate they are.

I’m 3 months into a new job where I work for a global tech company, and I want to ask for a pay review from my manager at the 6 month mark when I pass probation.
I know I’m going above and beyond my responsibilities as I’m not just managing projects, but I’ve also set up a global PMO governance board and have identified gaps within other teams where I’m assisting with the solution.

Is it acceptable for me to be asking this from my manager, and if so how do I raise this?
