The problem was that we had been setting records every year for the past 5ish years, but this last fiscal year we fell a bit short of projections but overall was still good. That's why it was sub-par.
BDO 2 is right. Think about it, we did 20 acquisitions over the last five years and grew to over a billion in revenue during that time. Hard to keep up that pace and we fell a bit short this past year. I'm sure some regions did better than others, but that is normal for any national accounting firm. You guys really need to keep things in perspective before saying things like "BDO is going down the crapper".

We are not going downhill. Every firm on here can confirm margin compression. If they say otherwise they are not telling you the truth. There are certain offices in regions that did not do well while other offices hit it out of the park. All of you need to ask a partner in your office for the specifics instead of guessing. The sky is not falling.....
Chicago had a sub-par year as told to us by our OMP
Our OMP said the southeast got hammered. Don't know how serious it is. I'm sure they are just letting us know bonuses and raises will be terrible.
North east seems fine
BDO has had one of the best years on record. Lies.
Our office is literally a sinking ship, but we're in the southwest region.

I agree, but we weren't told we had a sub-par year so we still did okay. We've been told that we were down right awful, and people in our office have confirmed that we're going down hill.
Any specifics on how BDO is doing awful on the east coast?

Central did poorly. SE did not do well either. But geez the firm is not falling apart or going down the crapper. We need to hold off on acquisitions especially of the local firms.
@BDO7 Which SE OMP? There are several. I can tell you that the one furthest south is a good person but a terrible leader (although claims to be great).
Lousy OMPs that trash talk others are not leaders nor living core values.

BDO set very high forecast goals. Some practices hit them, others didn't. We're a growing firm with amazing leadership opportunities that you could never find at the Big Four. Look for your place in the Firm and what you enjoy doing everyday and you'll find that the Firm supports you and your goals. Take accountability for yourself and your team, we all own this business together.
What Kool aid are you drinking BDO 11? Are you a partner? Great firm except Central and SE leadership. Get the old boy partners out and BDO has an amazing future.
