Pt. 1: Alright, here's my concern. I understand bus drivers are hard to come by. When you got 'em, you want to keep 'em. Our district is in short supply and we recently found out a player (players) on one of our athletic teams, along with a coach (coaches) has tested positive for Covid, OR been exposed. A few of us drivers recently drove this team to an away game within this past week yet none of us were notified if we might have possibly been the driver to one or more of these players/staff.

Any advice on keeping my marriage healthy during busy season? Seems like this time of year is hard both at work and at home.

When did you decide to get medicated? I have what I’d call “high functioning” depression and anxiety. See a therapist and all, but still deal with lows that seem hard to overcome for weeks on end - losing interest, hard to focus on work, sleeping difficulties, etc. Hard to tell when to make that decision!

I have been finding a number of providers that are in-network (UHC) but the surgery centers are out of network and I was told that I have to use in-network. Has anyone else encountered this problem? I'm not seeing how much use the benefit is when the most expensive part is out of network.

Don't own a personal laptop; always use my work laptop for everything. I see people recommending Dell XPS or Lenovo Thinkpad but do you really need that for school? My plan was to just get a run of the mill laptop to use for excel and ppt...what else do i need it for?

Pt 3: I get it. The district can't afford to lose even one driver for any length of time, let alone for a 2 week quarantine. We are stretched so thin already, but our health and safety is just as important as the teachers/coaches/players/students. Don't ya think?
Side bar...I had minimal players and 2 coaches on my bus for takeover and same 2 coaches but almost 20 players for the ride home. Hmmm.

The only way too fix the shortage of drivers is to pay them a living wage. I'm a driver on my second retirement. I drive bus because I have a blast. The kids are great.
I have learned that there are a lot of drivers that are single mothers living at poverty level.
Our government sent money to teachers and left the transportation department out.
Bus drivers deserve better.
