Thanks everyone! Decided to look for nice studios going forward...spending so much time at home even post-COVID seems really worth it to get a nicer place

I agree depends on what you make, but having lived in shitty buildings and then moving to NYC to live in a nicer doorman building, it is truly worth the money. You don’t want to live beyond your means, but if you can swing it and it’s a priority for you, then do it.
Considering how much time we will be spending in our apts in the near future it's not crazy to want to trade up
I'm in a studio like that, and it's doable, but it gets a little tight, especially in this wfh environment. I'm ready for something bigger.

Not crazy at all and for 3K all those things and presumably doorman are worth it.
