2) When is the planned scope can be ready for release?
3) Last but not least. Conduct post-mortem to understand why you realized that you can’t release it a literally one day before? Did you track the progress? Did you communicate with the team? Simply, what is the root cause and how we can prevent it from happening in the future.
I put aside the bigger issue of how it got to this point in favor of having a “what are our options” discussion with the team and product manager.
Questions we focus on are:
- Do we have enough that can be released that will add value? Agile is about delivering incremental value.
- Can we tolerate the remaining features being a fast follow?
- What is the revised timeline for these features and level of certainty?
- Is there something else depending on this product?
