Question, sorry if this is a little off putting to some of you, but have you put thought into what you're doing with your body after death? How many people are planning on donating their bodies to science?

This was something which my late father was passionate about. He applied and had everything in place for when he died. Sadly, he passed on a bank holiday so his body could not be accepted and we had to arrange a normal funeral.
I am a registered organ donor and have already donated a kidney to my brother. Anything else of use can gladly be taken when l go.

It is never too soon to consider options. Last year I had a serious health issue so I already made arrangements to donate. It was simple- I reviewed the donation webpage at my state university, then printed and mailed in a form, which they reviewed and sent me a copy so it’s filed in my documents. When you have decided, it’s best to share with family, include in your will and always mention it if you are hospitalized, just in case. The program I donated to helps with transportation to their facility after death. When the program is done, your remains can be cremated or sent to funeral home for burial. It’s taken care of so my sons don’t have to make decisions. In my case, I intend to be cremated and buried at our national cemetery since I’m a veteran. The VA allows arrangements to be prearranged but I haven’t done that yet.

Donate my organs if they want them and I saw something about using your remains to plant a tree or something

Plan is for the whole body on offer for transplant. And a ecological disposal of the remains aka the carcass.

I have a rare vascular malformation so I am donating my body to science. After they harvest what they can of my healthy organs and skin, they can cremate me.

Your comment made me seriously consider donating my body, since I have congenital issues. Maybe I'd be interesting? 🤔 Before this, I was planning to get cremated, so thanks for making me think!

I think I'm going to donate my body to science, but I haven't done anything about it yet.

I am donating my body to science and the rest could be either a green burial or cremation.
