Question:
I just completed an RPA pilot with UiPath. The bot gets an email, logs in to our Web ERP, downloads a bunch of reports, and final step is to update Excel formulas and models (vlookups etc.) and send email
User keyboard time of 2 hours now shrunk down to 0 hours.
The bot is running on a vm 24/7 waiting on the email.
Interestingly, the bot does everything well but fails on the final step of updating Excel models.
If someone is logged into the VM, no errors and completes the work. Help?

How do you trigger the model update? (Activity)

The reports get downloaded from our ERP. When the last report gets downloaded and the ERP shows a Done status, the bot knows to close the web browser and go to the folder where the reports are saved. This is where the bot starts updating excel formulas.

Convert the excel process to a macro and execute the macro instead of keying the formulas

Keying formulas almost always causes issues in excel... make it a macro and it will be completely fine

Few questions:
1. Which edition of uipath you are using ? Community or enterprise ?
2. Are you using excel application scope to perform these actions ?

1. Community. Is there a difference?

2. Excel app scope? What do you mean?

Hi, I’m a tax professional but want to transition into a coding role such as bot coder and artificial intelligence. I’m really advanced with Excel and Alteryx, I even can create macros for my team and considered the technology rockstar. Do you recommend any certifications such as UIpath for my future career change? I’d also be interested in how to work for Google someday coding artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Joining an RPA team as a staff soon and will be training in UiPath or Blue Prism most likely. What hard skills should I have going in? Have little programming skills.

Is RPA a dead end?

I have very specific Dev skills from 5 years in the space. I don't feel qualified as a standard full stack developer. Should I be trying to skill up in other Dev roles or double down on RPA?

How do you measure success after implemening an RPA solution? I'm looking for questions or any measurements methods to see how it works as a part of change management program.
