An agency I freelance for wants to hire me full-time. They told me for a Sr Copywriter, 100-110k. I countered with 125-150.

I also said I'm interested in a higher-level title - I currently freelance as a Creative Director of Copy elsewhere (they don't have that title at this agency.)

They came back and said yes to the title and to 125, with a 6 month review that could raise it to 145.

Which is good for Sr Copy, but low for CD/ACD level. Don't want to screw myself over. What to say now?

I tutor ESL after school and recently switched over to Zoom. Students are stating that they are unable to annotate. I’ve read that this is common for Chromebook users. I just got a new student who was placed in 6th grade. However, based on her age and schooling, she should be in 7th. I talked to her and she agrees. Have you ever advocated for a student to be placed in a differnt grade?

Most of my students are Spanish-speaking and only want to speak their native language to each other. How do I discourage this, but in a positive way?

I had a student tell me that he was learning more English by playing a Clue-like game called, Among Us. He asked if I could host a game for the class. The next day, during a workshop, the speaker brought it up as well. I checked it out and it looks promising and would certainly hook the students. Has anyone tried this?
