I am moving to MD or VA in about 2 years from AK. Does anyone know what the requirements are for a certified , tenured teacher who is switching from music to ESL? (I will finish my Masters this school year in ESL.)

In Virginia you just have to take the ESOL Praxis (5362) to get the ESOL certification.

Make sure your Masters program meets all the requirements for ESOL certification in these states. Different states have different coursework and practicing requirements in addition to the state-specific certification tests.

I’m not sure it does, but I do know that MD just requires a TSOL praxis test. Not sure about PA
