In a normal job market, I would say maybe. But this is not a normal job market. I've been having a harder time even getting interviews than I ever have in 20 years of working in the legal field.
I had the same set up. Been searching since September. It’s a brutal market. I’ve never taken this long to find a new role.
It’s a tough market but keep going, you’ll find one, best of luck
I’m sorry to hear that. Have you tried connecting with your network for opportunities? Some companies really place a value on internal referrals, and others will take time to post online and circulate the opening internally before filling. That said, it’s not a normal job market. Wishing you best of (swift) luck!
I, too, have had the same thought as I struggle to find a new position. This job market is awful. Could it also be some ageism? I fully believe it could. They see our experience, know that we won't work for peanuts like newer paralegals, and don't even bother talking to us. Our knowledge definitely backs the higher salary, but it seems most place just want the cheapest route most of the time. Good luck!
