Recently terminated from my job for failure to complete given tasks. The tasks were impossible to complete due to shortage of staffing.I communicated to management the situation was not doable.I asked for intervention to resolve the situation but was told to get help. There was nobody to ask.I am not able to tell other coworkers to help as they have their own depts to deal with. I believe I was unfairly terminated.
Are their any suggestions ?

If someone is fired simply because they couldn’t complete unrealistic tasks due to understaffing, that alone usually doesn’t qualify as wrongful termination under U.S. law. Unfair but not unlawful termination

Btw If they assigned to you tasks that were actually impossible then they were simply trying to fire you. And if they wanted to keep you they would’ve tried there best to keep you.

I am so sorry to hear that. I would speak to an attorney if I were you. If you were wrongfully terminated then they might be able to help you.

I would apply for unemployment if possible.

If you're in the US, it was probably legal to let you go. You can consult with a lawyer, but there may not be much you can do about it. The situation you were in sounds awful, and the best thing to do at this point is just put it behind you.

WOW! A little cold kinda sounds like HOW My lead terminated me. Sad part is I was told I was terminated for one reason BY Lead but company replied another reason to DEO. It's not always easy just to put something behind you when you were wronged especially if you did the best you could with what you had to work with.

Unfortunately you can be let go for any reason at any time without notice, as long as it’s not discriminatory, due to most employers being at will employers. Doesn’t make it ok, it’s certainly not. Most employers are actually downsizing, consolidating positions and expecting employees to do the work of 2-3 ppl. It’s becoming the norm now

They just didn’t like you and wanted to find any reason to term you. Those are signals to find another job

Kina freaking out. I'm applying for a new bar. They asked about credit card balances. I took that as they must mean do you carry over anything because my exact balance changes every day and my credit score once a month so I said 0. They just pulled my credit report and well it's not 0 as it hasn't updated yet. Did I do anything wrong?

Curious what’s a fair salary in MA? Was just told that there is likely not going to be a chance for a raise during my upcoming performance review due to my salary already being “above average for the industry” based on my employer’s questionable research. I’ve been with the company 8.5 years & am the only one in my role, which they can’t operate without. I execute tasks from two investment advisors and two financial planners - they make the decisions of what should happen & I make it happen.
