The food that is accepted by the vast majority of guests.

Then you order ONE SPECIAL MEAL for yourself.

What you want to eat. It’s your wedding! No one is expecting much from wedding food anyway.

like

Food that most people would enjoy is the courteous thing to do.

like

Now I’m curious. What do you want?

like

Food that you enjoy while being accommodating. So have a vegan, vegetarian, gluten free option for folks. That being said, we picked food that we liked. We wanted to have elements of our culture at our reception so we included that as an option.

like

Yes I agree with this (despite my first answer). Make sure you have something for everyone to eat, especially those with dietary restrictions. My husband has many allergies, so that meant the food would of course be allergy free, but we also made it vegan.

like

i guess it depends on what you want to eat? is it something that your guests realllly won’t eat? because if you’re serving alcohol you need to make sure there is food people will actually eat. but it really comes down to how unconventional the meal is

like

remember that hosting an event, even if it’s your wedding, means you have an obligation to provide an enjoyable experience for your guests. it’s being a good host

like

The food others want to eat. What’s makes a wedding great is the food and the music.

How necessary is an extracurricular for MBA apps? I work a ton of hours and don’t have a lot of time or interest in any activity that I could reasonably put on an app. I spend the little free time I have on activities I enjoy (spending time with SO and friends, working out, Netflix, etc). Would it be really bad if I had nothing in that section on my app beyond college extracurriculars? Or should I force some activity? I have enough time before I apply to make it look legit to adcoms.

So my fiancé and I are having a microwedding in Rocky Mountain National Park next year, and we’re working with an elopement planner.
She sent over a sample ceremony (intro, sweet poems + passages to be read, and example vows), and we read through it last night. I was reading it out loud while my fiancé made dinner, and it just hit me that this is really happening. I’m just really happy that I found someone who is willing to take a vow to spend his life with me and I’m so excited for that day :)

Thoughts on kindly asking your bridesmaids to please not give a gift? I am over the moon excited that my bridesmaids will be celebrating me and traveling for the wedding and bachelorette. I really do not want a gift from them at the wedding. Full disclosure, my fiancé and I have great paying jobs and my bridesmaids are grad students, artists, and teachers. How would you frame this? Even if they were millionaires I would not want a gift, but I don’t want it taken the wrong way.

Anyone unsure of what to do for bridesmaids “proposals?” I want them to get excited and feel special but when I see how much money I’d be spending on things like custom totes or mugs I’m like is it really worth it? Getting married in September, have a vax only policy for guests. My fiancé’s sister is bringing her unvaccinated spouse to the hotel where all the wedding festivities are being held b/c she is too scared to fly on an airplane without him. I find this incredibly uncomfortable and selfish given it will put me and my fiancé in an uncomfortable position (and it will also put my elderly parents and other vulnerable fam members at risk). Any ideas as to what (if anything) to do?
