If you have 100+ applicants (curtesy of Linkedin) how are you narrowing it down to which resumes to review?

I never used to write cover letters because I was told recruiters weren't reading them, but that was 5 years ago. What about today? If someone doesn't include a cover letter are you trashing the application?

Is there anything else you look for before you even consider looking at a job application?

We'll read cover letters, but it tends to work in reverse order. Traditionally, the cover letter was the intro to the resume. Now the resume seems to be considered first, and if the person seems like a possible fit the cover letter will be read. The cover letter, if written well, will highlight things not obvious from the resume, and will show some personality that probably wouldn't come through on a resume.

If a job application doesn't ask for a cover letter, I never submit one. I have had many recruiters tell me that they don't read them. I would do one if they ask for one because they are likely using that to narrow things down.

I am seeing Offer Extended in the portal against my application.

I have started my career in backend web development. (NodeJS)

However I hear so many stories of how people in cloud , ML or data science earn huge packages.

I got selected in another company and they want me to join in 30 days. But in TCS notice period is 90 days. I am in client billing. Will TCS has a buyout option? Or will they reduce my notice period to 60 days?. Any ideas plz
